Job Description:

Fostering critical thinking, academic excellence, and international awareness among students

Creating an engaging learning environment that encourages inquiry, reflection, and lifelong learning, while supporting students’ personal and academic development in preparation for the IB Diploma examinations

Supervise Extended Essays (EE) in their subject area and support CAS experiences outside the classroom

Integrate Theory of Knowledge (TOK) concepts into subject lessons

Model Islamic values and etiquette (Adab) consistent with the Global Darussalam Academy ethos

Willingness to engage in boarding life/evening academic support if required

Requirements:

Indonesian Citizen

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education or a relevant subject area

Teaching certification or equivalent qualification preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Minimum 3 years of teaching experience; ideally within an IB or international school environment

Strong organizational and classroom management skills

Experience with the IB Diploma Programme (DP) Curriculum is highly desirable

Commitment to ongoing professional development and the IB mission

Strong understanding of inquiry-based and student-centered learning

Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Position Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning

Implement inquiry-based teaching and learning aligned with IB DP subject guides and assessment criteria

Plan coherent units that develop conceptual understanding, ATL skills, and critical thinking

Use differentiation and appropriate technology to meet diverse learner needs

Student Support and Well-Being

Support students’ academic and personal development in line with the IB Learner Profile

Guide students in developing self-management, reflection, and independent learning skills

Contribute to a caring, supportive learning environment that prioritizes student well-being

Assessment Practices

Design, administer, and review formative and summative assessments aligned with IB requirements

Provide feedback that supports reflection, improvement, and student ownership of learning

Maintain accurate records to support internal and external assessment processes

Professional Collaboration and Development

Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment

Engage in ongoing professional learning, including IB-mandated training

Contribute to collaborative planning, moderation, and reflective practice

School and Community Engagement

Contribute positively to the school’s mission, values, and learning culture

Participate in extracurricular programs, supervision, and community activities

Model professional conduct and uphold IB standards and school policies
